Pench national park is spread over a huge area of 1179 sq. km. With 411 sq. km. being the core forest. The park is a part of the Tiger reserve and it covers the districts of Chindwara and Seoni in MP while 257 sq. km. lies in the state of Maharashtra. Geographical location of pench is Longitude : 79007’45” E to 79022’30” and Latitude: 21037’N to 21050’30” E.

The Pench National park has a tropical climate leading to hot and dry summers and cold winters. It receives heavy rainfall from the end of June which continues till early September.

The government it declared Pench as a National Park in 1983 followed by the title of Tiger Reserve of India in 1993. Earlier it gained the status of a Sanctuary to stop the exploitation of the forests.

The terrain is undulating and just the beginning of grandiosity of topography of the Seoni hills. The picturesque view is breathtaking as the vastness is revealed and the scenes unfold before your eyes.

Prominent Places of the Park include Alikatta, Piyorthadi, Junewani Talao, Jamun Nala, Chindimatta, Sitaghat /Raiyakassa, Kalapahad, Bodha Nala, Baghin Nala, Bijamatta, Karmajhari and more.

Pench is rich in Flora and Fauna. It showcases a plethora of foliage in the tropical dry deciduous forests and houses more than 1200 species of floral elements. Mammals, birds and insects are found in abundance here. There are quite a few pench resorts, that come forward with amazing location and where you can enjoy the forest to the hilt.
