WELCOME TO PENCH NATIONAL PARK

Nestled in the Southern slopes of the Satpura range of Central India lies Pench National Park famous for its hills, forests, valleys, and the diverse flora and fauna. It derives its name from the river “Pench” that drifts through the park from North to South stretching across two states – Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

The famous Jungle Book written by Rudyard Kippling has all the characters to be traced out in Pench starting from the man-cub “MOWGLI” to “BALOO” the bear, and “SHER KHAN” the tiger. The population of tigers in Pench is over 53 with an additional 80 utilising the reserve, boosting the number of sighting

SAFARI IN PENCH

Core Zone – Turia Range

Core zones are fully protected forest areas and serve as reference points for the natural ecosystem within the Pench Tiger Reserve.

  • Turia Gate: Located approximately 2 km from the lodge. Morning, Afternoon, and Night Safaris are available from this gate.
  • Jhamtara Gate: Located approximately 50 km from the resort. Morning and Afternoon Safaris are available from this gate.
  • Karmajhiri Gate: Located approximately 80 km from the resort. Morning and Afternoon Safaris are available from this gate.

Buffer Zone – Turia Range

The buffer zone surrounds the core forest areas and offers excellent wildlife movement throughout the year.

  • Teliya Gate: Located approximately 5 km from the resort. Morning and Afternoon Safaris are available.
  • Khawasa Gate: Located approximately 8 km from the resort. Morning and Afternoon Safaris are available.
  • Rukhad Gate: Located approximately 40 km from the resort. Morning and Afternoon Safaris are available.
  • Khursapar Gate: Located approximately 20 km from the resort. Morning and Afternoon Safaris are available.

Night Safari: Explore Pench at Night

Experience the thrill of Pench after dark. The night safari offers a unique adventure, where you may spot the glowing eyes of nocturnal animals and witness the predator–prey interactions of the forest. This 3-hour drive gives you a deeper understanding of the jungle’s nightlife.

You will also assist the forest department in night patrolling, guided by experienced naturalists and trained local guides.

  • Turia Night Safari Gate: Located approximately 2 km from the lodge.
    Timing: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (3-hour safari).

Core Zone – Sillari

Core zones represent untouched forest habitats and serve as important conservation areas for wildlife.

  • Sillari Gate: Located approximately 8 km from the lodge.
    Morning, Afternoon, and Night Safaris are available from this gate.

Buffer Zone – Sillari

Buffer zones adjoin the core areas and allow visitors to explore extended forest regions with frequent wildlife movement.

  • Sillari Buffer Gate: Located approximately 8 km from the lodge. Morning and Afternoon Safaris are available.
  • Khursapar Gate: Located approximately 18 km from the lodge. Morning and Afternoon Safaris are available.
  • Chorbahuli Gate: Located approximately 8 km from the lodge. Morning and Afternoon Safaris are available.
  • Koltimara Gate: Located approximately 60 km from the lodge. Morning and Afternoon Safaris are available.

Safari Duration

The duration of each safari inside the Pench Tiger Reserve is approximately 3 hours for both Morning and Afternoon sessions.

SAFARI BOOKING

Safaris need to be booked well in advance to ensure availability. At the time of booking your trip, we advise to first get the safaris booked based on your requirement.
Our Naturalist will assist you with all the information including pricing of various categories and will confirm the availability based on lead booking time and other parameters.
